WOMEN in Wool are flocking to celebrate International Women’s Day with their annual Zoom conference on Friday.
Organiser and Wool Industries Australia executive director Bianca Heaney said already about 80 women have registered for the free event that runs from 12.30 on 11 March 2022.
She has urged all ‘women in the wool’ to register and celebrate the achievements of women in the wool industry as part of International Women’s Day.
The theme of the event recognises the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are working to change the climate of gender equality and build a sustainable future.
Participants will have an opportunity to share their story in the industry after hearing three female industry leaders speak.
The speakers include Elders district wool manager and mentor Stephanie Brooker-Jones, Merineo founder Claire Hausler, Animal Health Australia chief executive officer Kathleen Plowman and journalist/wool grower Kristen Frost.
