AGRIBUSINESS analyst Robert Herrmann has expanded his industry reach with a new role with farm management and agronomy consultancy Meridian Agriculture.
Mr Herrmann has started as a senior consultant at Meridian Ag, and will also continue his part-time role as executive director of the National Council of Wool Selling Brokers of Australia.
Robert said he was looking forward to the new role at Meridian Ag.
“I am very pleased to join Meridian Ag – a company I have had a long professional relationship with in my previous work.
“The services they provide will be a good fit with the experience I have gained over my agriculture journey,” he said.
Meridian director Andrew Speirs said Mr Herrmann would be part of the management group and work directly with farmers and agribusiness to support strategic planning and special projects.
“Robert has a wealth of experience in farm strategy and market analysis and brings a unique set of skills to the Meridian team which will add great value to our client offering,” he said.
“His expertise lies in enterprise decision-making and risk management, providing practical, results-driven advice to farmers and agribusinesses.”
Mr Herrmann’s 40 years of experience in agribusiness includes 11 years as a senior wool specialist with Elders Ltd, the establishment of independent advisor business Ag Concepts Unlimited. He later formed Ag Concepts Advisory in response to the changing landscape of the wool industry post-Reserve Price Scheme and then expanded into the areas of livestock and grain price risk management. He led the development of Mecardo Market Analysis that provides analysis and commentary on news, data and analysis relevant to the Australian and international grain, red meat and wool industries.
Ag Concepts was purchased by Rural Co which, in turn, merged with Landmark to form Nutrien Ag Solutions where Mr Herrmann was retained as customer, product and market specialist. Between 2020 and 2023, he was also a Sheep Producers Australia director.
